But it’s true. There is no magic pill, no magic steroid, no magic growth hormone in bodybuilding and fitness. Do people use massive amounts of these things? Yes, they do. Do Pro bodybuilders need to use massive amounts of these things? Yes they do.  Is the average steroids user using 3x the dosage of steroids he needs in order to make progress and he is doing this for the purpose of covering up bad diet habits and poor effort during training. Yes, he does.

The bottom line of sculpting your body is DIET and TRAINING. These two components are the backbone of changing what you look like. Furthermore, it is not an even split between diet and training. The importance of diet in deciding how your body looks is roughly 80% with training occupying a much smaller percentage of about 20%. Now what do steroids do? They allow you to take things farther with your diet and training. They’ve been romanticized into these substances that cause a person to become Mr. Olympia without doing a thing but sticking a needle in your body. This is grossly untrue and if you choose to use steroids with this mindset or with a plan to use it to make up for a relaxed diet and average training effort, then I am telling you right now with 100% certainty. You will not achieve your goals with this mindset and that behavior. If you utilize performance enhancing drugs and steroids in your plan to sculpt and build your body they will make your diet and training work for you. They will remove the limit on muscle size and strength that your body has naturally. You will be able to utilize your diet and training to become bigger and stronger than you otherwise would have been capable of being.

For emphasis I am going to give another example of why steroids are not the magic pill or injection that are going to give you the body you want, they will only help you to get it if you live the basics. The basics of diet and training in bodybuilding.

When you take a honda civic, or some other import stock sedan. You have a really average performance car. Now you take that honda civic and you add a supercharger and a NOS fuel injector and you have a really high performance car with the CAPABILITY to raced really fast. This is the same thing that happens to your body when you take performance enhancing drugs and steroids. You are “souping up” your engine. The fact that you have injected the steroids and growth hormones into your body now means you have the CAPABILITY to get really big and strong. Ok, So once we have the modified sedan and we have a vehicle that has high performance potential we have to find the correct driver to get the most out of the vehicles raw capabilities. We also have to make sure we are giving our modified car the most premium fuel, because if we do not, and we give our car inferior grade fuel, then the inside of our premium modified engine and supercharger will become corroded, clogged, sick, and in need of massive maintenance. If we ran our supercharged car on low performance fuel it may go fast for a very short time and then we will have done irreversible damage to the high performance parts. High performance parts need more care and maintenance than average parts. Your body is your car. If you choose to use steroids and performance enhancing drugs you will have supercharged your body and your hearts, veins, arteries, liver, kidneys etc. are all going to be far far more susceptible to damage if you do not provide premium fuel to your body. That’s means that as a steroid user if you want to have an opportunity to live past your middle age, you are going to have to be militant about your diet. Just don’t be a bitch dude! Taking steroids is a serious decision. Don’t do it unless you are sure that it’s what you want. If you make that decision and you are sure, then yes, use them. These are serious hormones/chemicals, they are not toys, if you are going to use them then they cannot be used as a crutch. You must use steroids only are willing to be militant about the basics of bodybuilding. If you ignore this warning, you will learn, I hope that you can learn from my experience instead of having to have your own, but I’m trying to save you the heartache of losing your health, even momentarily.

First, you have to set up a proper bodybuilding and training regimen and you’ve got to be able to get to a point where you are nailing your diet everyday. At night at the end of each day you can look back across the day at your diet and what your hand put into your mouth and you can go “Check! Perfect!”.

Second, you need to be trying as hard as you can in the gym. A lot of guys just don’t have the motivation to take themselves to a level of training that is highly uncomfortable. They don’t want that. Well, if you don’t want to do that, then don’t use steroids, because effort during training is essential in getting what you want out of them. You have got to be trying as hard as you possibly can in the gym to get the most out of your steroids. By the end of your workout you should be feeling slightly like whimpering and a little scared of what it would be like to do another exercise. You should be DONE. This doesn’t take a long time, it just takes a lot of effort and a lot of heart through a few hard sets that take you to hell and back.

Some of these guys with a wide reach in the fitness industry have reviewed and popularized flawed interpretations of studies on the effects of supraphysiological dosages of testosterone on human males. While clever and effective in completely discrediting the dishonest supplement companies, this intentional exaggeration of the effects of steroids through the faulty interpretation of these steroid studies has caused more confusion and inaccurate beliefs to be formed on the effects of steroids by up and coming gym goers as well as the general public.

Sculpting your body is all about diet. Steroids will not make up for an ineffective diet.
